MTD doesn't have to be confusing.

From April 2026, many self-employed individuals and landlords will need to keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC under Making Tax Digital (MTD). The rules can feel unclear, especially if you are used to filing just one annual tax return or are new to self-assessment.
